Games...BIG games...
As one that works with youth, I am always on the lookout for anything that might fit into the fun/slightly crazy/weird/fun category, especially games. Now there are the standard games like dodge ball and tag that are just your old standbys. Every once and a while (OK more often then that) I try and find something that will capture the attention of the kids and send them home talking about what a great time it was to ...(fill in the blank)... I think that I found one.
What if I were to tell you that we played Monopoly for over an hour with 12 kids and everyone had a blast? Ok, what if I were to tell you that we played with a 462 sq foot Monopoly board and you were to bring your biggest stuffed animal as your token?
It was so cool! Granted it took about 10 hours to set up and a bit of money to get the materials, but that was not even the best part. I spent about 4 hours that afternoon before youth group and went all over town asking for donations for prizes. I got 5 free combos from Taco Bell, a free regular sub from Quizno's, 3 free drinks from Jamba Juice, 2 free cups of coffee from Dutch Bros, 6 free attractions from Black Beards Family entertainment, and 10 free rounds of mini-golf from Boomers! Then I made up prize packets for the winners and the rest got to pick one thing left over. It was crazy the entire time, check that, it was mayhem (........yeah, I hope that the deacons meeting was not disturbed by people running screaming through the halls. -there were a few..........different chance cards). Then to top it all off, the pizza was late and so we got it for free, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So anyone for a game of Monopoly!
